We've got something NEW to share! 🤩

Published 11 months ago • 2 min read

But first, a little backstory...

Our newsletter is called The Journey. And that's simply because that's what podcasting is. It truly is a journey. Filled with learning curves, highs and lows, and all kinds of challenges you have to conquer along the way.

There's probably even been some actual, blood, sweat, and tears behind the scenes! In short, launching and growing a podcast is not easy.

Nothing worthwhile really is.

But that doesn't mean that podcasting is only an uphill battle. Especially not if you get some much-needed help along the way.

And so we're super excited to introduce a new segment to our weekly newsletter which we're calling Founder's Corner! 🤩 This shiny new segment will feature actionable advice from Carli (We Edit Podcast's Founder, CEO, and fearless leader!) on growing your podcast. Because if we've learned anything over the years, (and if J.R.R. Tolkien has taught the world anything) it's that any journey is that much easier with someone to guide you.

So to help make your podcasting journey easier, Carli will be sitting down with you each week in the Founder's Corner to share those insights and tips that will help you take your podcast from strength to strength.

And the best news? The Journey starts today! Keep reading for the first official Founder's Corner segment. 👇

And now, the part you've all been waiting for....🥁 Introducing the Founder's Corner...

Before we embark on this podcasting journey together, let me introduce myself. I’m Carli! Thanks for joining me here at the Founder’s Corner. When I started We Edit Podcasts in 2015, I set out to give podcasters back their time by taking over the tedious tasks and helping them create great, high-quality content without the cost. That mission has since blossomed into a thriving company, which we’re continuously expanding.

Here at WEP, we continue to educate and support a new generation moving into the podcasting sphere through our platform, our courses, and our blog. Now I want to provide you with even more value by giving you these actionable tips in your inbox each week, that you can take and implement into your strategy for growing your podcast (and having some fun along the way!)

So whether you are just starting out or you're hundreds of episodes in, I want to connect with you, through the Founder's Corner, and help you take your podcast to the next level with simple, actionable steps that you can take today to see a change tomorrow!

Without further ado, let's jump into today's actionable tip:

Tip #1: Consistent release schedule: With summer starting out in full swing, now more than ever it's important to stick to a consistent publishing schedule. If you're going to be away for two weeks, make sure you have pre-recorded the episodes to be released in those weeks that you won't be around. Your audience still expects your episodes to be released whilst they're going for their morning runs, lounging by the pool, or enjoying their summer activities.

Bonus tip: It's always a good idea to have a few extra episodes in the bank for the times that you need it most. #nosleepmom #lifesemergencies

Have you found it hard to keep a consistent publishing schedule through the summer or other holiday seasons? I'd love to hear about it, reply to this newsletter or hit us up on Twitter: @Weeditpodcasts

Until next week...

Happy podcasting! 🎧

Do You Already Have What It Takes to Run a Successful Podcast? I recently had the opportunity to sit down with Gareth Davies, a music producer and now podcast host of not one but two shows! (Gareth’s full In The Spotlight interview is linked below.) And something he said got me thinking about ➡️ transferable skills ➡️. And how – I'd argue, more than almost any other industry – the podcasting space celebrates this idea of transferable skills. And that’s because a successful podcast involves so...

The One About Taking Action Carli and I were doing some “serious business brainstorming” the other day. And at some point in the “very serious brainstorming”, we rabbit-holed (as you do) down a path that led to, at the time, a very natural follow-up question, “So, what’s your go-to karaoke song?” FUN FACT: Carli’s is “Before He Cheats” by Carrie Underwood. (Classic!) Mine is Vanilla Ice’s “Ice, Ice Baby”. 🧊 Less classic. I know. But, for whatever reason, many moons ago, I had this brainwave...

The One About Hot Takes So, I recently did something a little different over on The Podcast Digest…I wrote a post where I shared one of my biggest podcasting 🔥hot takes🔥! 😬 Wanna know what it was? ALL podcasts should be edited! 🫢 Yip. I said it. (And whether you agree ✅ or disagree ❌, you can read the full post below!) And since then, we've been on a bit of a roll in the Hot Takes Department 😉 at We Edit Podcasts. And so I thought I was going to share another hot take with you here. But,...
